As I went through the process of applying to veterinary school, I was shocked at the dearth of anecdotal information available on the web. I have been fortunate to work in the veterinary industry for six years as a Registered Veterinary Technician, so I know many veterinarians and have heard the stories of how they got to their current position. However, not all are that lucky. After being asked to give a presentation to my college Pre-Vet Club about applying to veterinary school, I realised I had a lot to say! In September 2015 I will begin veterinary school at the Royal Veterinary College in London, England.

The aim of this blog is to discuss, in depth, my experience applying to veterinary school, choosing a school, and to describe my time at the RVC and in London.I will be accompanied by my dear pup, Layla, who has been with me since 2007. She’s pretty excited about most things, but I don’t think she realises what we’re in for this time.
